Expanding IT Resources for Parsons Businesses

When the internet is down, a server issue stalls the workday or the same technology problem keeps coming back, business owners do not want to open a ticket and wait. They want someone who knows their business, answers the phone and has enough resources behind them to fix the issue the right way.

That is the idea behind the next chapter for Higher Calling Technologies.

Effective June 1, 2026, Higher Calling Technologies (HCT), a longtime Parsons technology provider, is merging with Adams Brown Technology Specialists, a regional IT services provider backed by Adams Brown, a business advisory and CPA firm serving companies across Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and the surrounding region.

HCT Owner Mike Meyer will remain actively involved, and clients will continue working with the same local team from the Parsons office.

“Our clients have always counted on us to be here when something is not working,” Meyer said. “This move gives them the same people they already know, with more teammates, more tools and more specialized support behind us when the issue calls for it.”

For Parsons-area businesses, the merger is designed to add depth without taking away the local relationship. The Parsons office and day-to-day service approach will remain in place. Clients will not experience disruption to their regular support.

What will change over time is the size of the team behind that support.

The combined organization expands available services, including managed IT, cybersecurity, network penetration testing, vCIO services and technology consulting.

“Most business owners do not want to spend their day thinking about IT,” said Chris Schneider, CEO of Adams Brown Technology Specialists. “They want their systems to work, their people to get help when they need it and someone looking ahead so the same problems do not keep showing up. That is where our teams are aligned.”

The move comes as local businesses are relying more heavily on technology to handle daily operations, customer communication, data security, compliance, remote access and long-term growth. For many companies, IT needs have moved beyond fixing computers and responding when something breaks. Business owners are asking bigger questions: Are we secure enough? Is our network holding us back? Why do we keep having the same issue? What technology decisions should we be making before we are forced into them?

Meyer said joining Adams Brown Technology Specialists gives HCT clients more resources to answer those questions while keeping the local service model intact.

The combined companies will operate as Adams Brown Technology Specialists.

Adams Brown also expanded into Parsons in 2025 through its acquisition of Stafford & Westervelt, Chartered, reinforcing its long-term investment in southeast Kansas, Arkansas and Oklahoma.

“Our goal is to make sure businesses in the area have what they need to keep moving forward,” Meyer said. “We’re still here. We just have more behind us now.”
